Shoulda bought stock....

....in whatever company makes the pouches for Happy Tots, Plum Baby, Earths best as well as all the other companies who are hopping on the baby food pouch bandwagon. I buy Happy Tot and Plum Baby pretty frequently and use them as snacks for Kayleigh. She loves that she can do it herself and I love that its a healthy organic snack with fruits and veggies.

How excited was I when I walked into the baby food isle of Target today and noticed that every big company now has a hand in this revolutionary idea! Hopefully that means some of the prices will go down. Today I bought maybe 20 different flavors in the following brands: Happy Tot (I find to be the cheapest but lacks veggie variety), Plum Baby, Earths Best and Ellas Kitchen. Ellas Kitchen was by far the most expensive but had the most amazing flavors. In the parking lot Kayleigh signed to me that she was hungry and I promptly opened her a Pumpkin, Cranberry and Apple snack that she devoured in minutes.

I'm writing this because it has come to my attention that a lot of moms don't know what the hell I am talking about when I talk about these pouches. How about the moms that look at me perplexed at the fact that I still give my child babyfood. Hold on, back up...still? If you didn't know Kayleigh refused babyfood at 6 months old! Yep shes been getting table food since 6 months. Around 11 months my friend Nici told me about the baby food pouches and how Kayleigh would probably love them because she could do it herself. Boy was she right! I look at these like smoothies, they do not replace a meal and I feel they are a healthy snack and won't slow my childs food development since shes been eating food for quite some time now.

Also, one more note. To any moms out there worried that "this is babyfood" "my child is too big" blah blah blah. I hope to leave you with this tidbit of information that should help you realize that this stuff is just not for babies. I was in NYC a few weeks back and I must have seen about 50+ children between the ages of 3-10 having these pouch snacks. They were the Happy Tot and plum baby brands too. What does that mean? Well probably that I am a chic city mom trend setter and that we should just all hop on the pouch band wagon. Just kidding, you can make whatever decision you want, but I just wanted to let some moms know of another healthy snack out there!

Look who's talking!

Well shes been talking for months now but I wanted to show all of you some of the words that Kayleigh knows. Here is a sampling. She is at that stage where she says something new everyday so we really do not have a good grasp on how many words she can say but we tell people around 30. So friends and family, time to censor yourselves...because someone is ready to join the conversation!

Hope that brings a smile to your face! She has the sweetest little voice.

How lucky are we.....

I really wanted this post to contain a video of Kayleigh repeating ABC as well as many other words she knows. However, my phone has decided to not cooperate and I plan to march on down to the verizon store that is located conveniently a block from my house and give them a piece of my mind.

Now, I am NOT lucky because this is the second DROID phone that has taken a crap on me. However, I was reflecting on the day and was thinking how lucky Kayleigh and I are to have wonderful friends in Ohio. I just love being surrounded by little happy faces all day every day and their moms are great company and wonderful sources of information. I mean they say it takes a village and I for one could not be happier with the village that we landed in.

I am sure Dan is also happy about our little friends. He knows most of the moms and babies and of course has met a few of the dads. He doesn't get together with them as much as he probably would like but hopefully as time goes on that situation will remedy itself.

So here's a shout out to my mommy friends and their sweet babies. I don't tell you all this enough but I am very grateful that you are all in my lives! Seriously I appreciate each and everyone of you...and Kayleigh loves each and every one of your sweet little darlings.

Embracing the Camera....

So I know this is supposed to be a Thursday post...but I was not feeling up to taking pictures yesterday. I thought how about the ones I took from last week??

Oh! What is embrace the camera? It's this cool project a few of my fellow moms do. You take a pic with your baby once a week (Thursdays). Usually the mom is the one behind the camera and you never have any pics of your lovely baby with yourself. I have been doing it but since I didn't keep up with my blog I guess you had no idea that was my intention.

A few of these came out blurry...not my best photo shoot...

She loves taking the picture and then running over to the camera and seeing the picture...see how anxious she is!

Shes definitely my little buddy...she makes me so happy!

I mean look at this face...how can you not be happy when all you do is look at this all day?

The Many Adventures of Kayleigh

Sorry folks. I should have warned you I have the attention span of a fly. Lets try this again. I now have a new computer and am truly dedicated to this blog! I would really like to spruce it up a bit and have been putting off posting for that reason. Procrastination is the theft of time...and boy what time has gone by!

Since we last met, let me fill you in on one of Kayleighs latest adventures....New York City...Part III. Pretty lucky little 15 month old if you ask me.

We spent a lot of time with Granny Pattie.....

Kayleigh rode on her first Carousel!
And of course Kayleigh reunited with an old friend...

That's all for now! Again, I will try to post more often than every 3 months.
